Systematic Phonics Integrated   3.00   01/19/2021   05/08/2021   Lecture

Course addresses the nature and role of systematic phonics and phonemic awareness both in isolation and within meaning-centered reading, spelling, and writing processes. Current research regarding phonics instruction will be explored; the integration of phonics into the language arts program, and strategies and materials for applying theoretical perspectives in teaching practice will be included. (Required for those planning to pursue licensure in early childhood education, intervention specialist: mild/moderate needs, i.e., special education, and middle childhood education.)
