The purpose of this course is to provide students with an in-depth learning experience of the integrated concepts and methods of operations management. Upon completion of a variety of assignments and activities, students will enhance their knowledge, skills, attitudes and values associated with an understanding of the process of using various operations management concepts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of maintaining a manufacturing or service organization. This process consists of analyzing and evaluating a set of decisions and actions that are used to achieve the objectives of an organization when it is operating in a constantly changing, technologically enhanced, global environment. The primary topics discussed include: operations strategy, capacity planning, manufacturing processes, supply chain strategies, logistics, linear programming, queuing theory, forecasting, regression analysis and inventory control.
