Through a collaborative, historical, and philosophical
approach, this course investigates societal
issues that have an impact on women's
health as well as issues related to women as consumers
of health care. In a seminar format, the
course evolves through ongoing class input.
Content development and assessment methods
result from active student participation. Topics
may include but are not limited
to the following: historical/economic perspectives
of women's health, women and the health
care system, violence against women, alternative
methods of healing, and the physical and mental
health of women. Prerequisite: Completion
of
Stage I Ursuline Studies coursework.
