This course builds upon concepts and principles in prior graduate courses and serves to complete the study of the student preparing to function as a family nurse practitioner. Students will apply the fundamental concepts of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to the child through late adolescence. Focus will address role application as a clinician in primary care, consultant, educator, administrator, and researcher. A developmental approach to the health promotion and maintenance of the individual child within the family system will be examined and applied. Previous concepts of pathology, advanced health assessment, pharmacology, diagnostic reasoning, and disease management will be emphasized and applied to the child in the primary care setting. Prerequisites: NR 542 Advanced Pharmacology; NR 541 Advanced Health Assessment; NR 620 HPMR.
