This course will acquaint students with basic concepts of inferential statistics and with the statistical techniques most commonly reported in the research literature of the health care professions. Students will gain skill in locating and using data bases relevant to health care, using statistical software, and organizing and reporting data from a variety of sources. The course will also provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to participate in evidence based practice. Emphasis is on issues related to research critique and utilization. Students will summarize and evaluate research related to a clinical problem of interest with attention to issues of human diversity. Prerequisites: NR 532 Advanced Research Concepts I
